MOORING SERVICES
ANNUAL MOORING SERVICE
SPRING SERVICE is a two-part service including:The crew goes out in late March/early April to do Part 1 of Spring servicing by ‘neighborhood’ area: pick up the trawl, returning each of the mooring balls to their assigned locations and make notes of any recommended service from the swivel up. We do not go back to complete that service and attach pennant lines (Part 2 of Spring servicing) until we hear from customers that they are at least 2 weeks out from launching their boats. This serves two purposes: a) it allows us to stagger the service work through the busiest time of the season since not everyone is launching at the same time, and b) pennant lines are not in the water long enough to accumulate any significant growth which can cut down on their life expectancy/effectiveness.
FALL SERVICE includes the following:Aquamarine Services winterizes in a trawl system by ‘neighborhood’ area. We records the GPS and attach a winter stick to one mooring, then record the GPS coordinates and 'attach' the next mooring with a ground line. We do this for 30-50 moorings, attaching another winter stick at the end of the trawl. We have used this system for the 25+ years we have been servicing moorings largely because we’ve found we lose less winter sticks (and therefore, moorings) to the inevitable ice that moves into the harbor each winter. We return only the surface gear (mooring ball and pennant lines) to our shop for storage and inspection over the winter. We explain this for two reasons: a) so that you understand that the majority of your mooring tackle remains in the water all year round (until we are required to pull it for service or the 3- or 5-year inspection), and b) to let you know that you will be in the same 'spot' next year.

New MooringsWe custom-design each mooring system we install to meet or exceed Harbormaster specifications to ensure that your new mooring is adequate for your particular mooring needs. The size of the mooring anchor, shackles and chain are evaluated based on the size and weight of your boat, water depth and location.
Mooring RelocationNeed your mooring moved? We can help! With a large underwater lifting capacity, we can raise your mooring and relocation it to your specifications.
Full InspectionPull your mooring to inspect and repair as necessary. Reinstall mooring using our survey-grade accurate GPS. Provide inspection report to you and Harbormaster, as necessary.
